Andy Cooney

Andy is a musician, song writer, vocalist and true entertainer. Dubbed “An
American Gift to Ireland’s Heritage, ” (Jim Mahoney, The Daily News) he is
currently making his mark not only on the Irish/Irish-American front but also within the
world of Country Music, a natural link since so much of Country has Irish roots. Andy has
worked with a number of Country Music’s finest including the Oak Ridge Boys, the Statlers,
and the Charlie Daniels Band. He is a rising star in the Irish music community not only in
America, but on the international front as well. Andy’s talent finds him often in the
“Green Isle” as well as conducting cruises to the Caribbean, Bermuda and up the
Mississippi River.

Christened by The New York Times as “Irish America’s Native Son, ” Andy
Cooney is highly ranked among Irish communities.

His professional career began at the young age of 17, when he began appearing in many
of the well-known Irish establishments in the Long Island, New York area entertaining
audiences with his piano playing and singing. In 1986, Andy was asked by the well-known
lrish band leader, Paddy Noonan, to tour with his show. This he did for the next several
years while gaining national exposure for his talent and winning a place in the hearts of
all those who heard him from coast to coast. In 1993, Andy struck out on his own doing
recordings and writing hit tunes and continuing his performing schedule under his own
music promotion company, The Mill Pond Production Company.
